Thumbprints in a hobby of mine that became a website. I have fun hunting down and photographing interesting signs, street-art and graffiti I see around town. The Thumbprints site is mostly a photo-gallery of those pictures.

Please check it out, enjoy it, and post comments!

Songshine

For the past four years, Gillian Moor, musician, has been organising the Songshine Open Mic Series. I'm sure you've heard of it, but if you've never attended before, you should.

I designed the Songshine logo and backdrop. There may even be a website coming soon, but until then, please look 'em up on Facebook.

Ash Incorporated

Ash Incorporated is the exclusive Caribbean distributor of OPI, Depiléve, NailTek and Tweezerman beauty products, cosmetics and nail lacquers. The company is run by one of the hardest-working ladies I've ever met, along with her husband and a fleet of contracted workers.

The website's main aim was to act as an online catalogue of their past products and promote new ones.

The secondary aim though, was to save the precious time of my client; through managing customer databases, inventory and prices, mailing-lists and web-promotions. Thereby freeing my client to handle the more pressing challenges of running her business.

Codemight Video CMS

A brilliant web-designer from Lithuania (and my friend from Sitepoint Forums), Saulius Cerniauskas, designed what he referred to as his 'Video CMS'. Basically software and tools to allow users to build Youtube-like video websites. Very cool stuff.

He hired me to design skins for his video player. I have images of a few of them below for you to see.

I'm not too sure if he still has his Codemight project going, but I do have a link to his website (NOT designed by me), www.codemight.com, so you can check out what he's up to these days.

Food Pictured

Food Pictured was a Spanish stock photography website focusing on food and drink (as the name would imply). It was administered by another Sitepoint friend of mine, Nuria Zuazo, a fellow web-designer. She hired me to design the aesthetics of the site in 2008.

The project was later merged into webphototraders.com, but please see the screenshots above of the work that was done by me.

MapauDeutschland

This was done while I was employed with Sunny Group. Trevyn Roberts designed the aesthetics; he's a brilliant graphic designer, by the way, and a good guy to look up if you want a flashy style.

This was a fun project, if only because the site's entirely in German and it was interesting going between the Trini copywriter and the Austrian translator. Just for kicks (and SEO reasons) I named all the files in German as well.

Schauen Sie, bitte!

Above are some screenshots of Mapau Deutschland's website and a photograph of Mapau Casino and Sweetlime on Ariapita Avenue, Trinidad.

Caribbean Paintings

This was a short-lived but fun and quite profitable project, lasting just over a year.

A Canadian venture-capitalist, Chad Ragoonanan, staying at his artist friend's house in Trinidad, decided one morning to launch a Caribbean fine-art website. The aim; to display and sell local and regional fine artwork (and prints) across North America and Canada. He called me a few days later, and so the CaribbeanPaintings.ca website was born.

Soon after, Nishad Karim was on board, and a talented wood-carver from Tobago. Other artists were soon to follow.

Unfortunately this project was never allowed to play out as Chad died of unknown causes just about a year after Caribbean Paintings began. The artists each went their separate ways, and about then my stint at Sunny Group was in full swing.

Trinidad and Tobago Triathlon Association

I designed and built the 2007 design of the T&T Triathlon Association.

This project included several trips to Tobago to cover races and training events, taking place mostly in Store Bay and environs. Have a look at my designs and some of my photographs below.

NOTE: The current design of the triathlon.co.tt website was NOT done by me.

Accela Marketing

THE very first ever website I designed and built for someone other than myself!

This was done while I was employed at Accela Marketing in Castries, St. Lucia. We must have gone through a dozen designs (some of which are shown below) ranging from the kweole chef to the infamous "Outside the Box" design.

My first commercial site, many things about this project were messy, but I'm still very proud of my work and the experience earned then. This was the start of the adventure.

NOTE: The current design of the accelamarketing.com website was NOT done by me.

Youtube

So one of my hobbies on the rare occasion that I have time; Stop motion animation.

Find a couple of my stuff on my Youtube Channel (archedmandible). I fully intend to do more, one of these blue moons... You're very welcome to subscribe in the meantime :)-

If you love animation (or cats), I'd highly recommend Simon's Cat's Channel too!

Twitter

I'll admit it... I don't get Twitter.

I created an account there sometime ago but couldn't find anything more useful to do with my bird than tell everyone what song I'm currently listening to (I listen to music CONSTANTLY!).

I do have pretty damn good taste in music, even if I say so myself, so if you're curious, please follow me on Twitter and listen along with me.

Sitepoint Forums.

My online home for the past five years (since 2005), and where I got my thorough education in all aspects of web-design, including best practices, SEO and AJAX.

Sitepoint Awards Screenshot

There is no substitute for the knowledge I earned there; neither the friends and other interesting people I've met from all over the planet.

I'm a mentor these days, a beautiful orange badge to go with my shiney, gold "Member of the Year 2008" award and "Member of the Month - March 2008". I've very proud of my situation now to give back to their online community in return for all I've learned over the years.
